#عايدة_الجوهري في اللغة المعجمية الخالصة، الفحولة هي الذكورة، هي مجموع الصفات الخاصّة بجنس الذكر. من الناحية اللغوية البحت، كلمة فحولة مشتقّة من «فحل»، و«الفحل» هو الذكر القوي من كل حيوان، ولمّا كانت اللفظة مستوحاة من عالم الحيوان، باتت الفحولة في مبناها ومعناها قوّةً، والرجل الفحل هو الرجل الشّبق القادر على ممارسة الجنس دون كلل، وباتت محصورة بالوجه…
